Cheryl Moskowitz
Biography
Published poet since the early 80’s. Born in Chicago and lived in London since the age of 11. Taught on the Creative Writing and Personal Development MA at Sussex University and co-founded LAPIDUS, the organization for literary arts and personal development. Works regularly with arts organisations such as the Poetry Society, and as a writer in the community, including schools, hospitals, prisons and with the homeless. Publications include Wyoming Trail – novel (Granta, 1998), Can it Be About Me? - poetry for children (Janetta Otter Barry Books, Frances Lincoln, 2012). A new adult poetry collection, The Girl is Smiling, will be appearing later this autumn. Recent poetry awards include the Torbay Poetry Competition (2009), Bridport Prize (2010), the Troubadour International Poetry Prize (2010) and 2nd Prize in the International Hippocrates Prize for Poetry and Medicine (2011) Open Category.
